father's day 2012

We had a great father's day--the Hillsdale Farmers Market, a little soccer, and then Ryan decided he wanted to build Alex a deck slide in the backyard. Alex has the best dad ever!

nana's birthday

Nana has helped us out many times this summer by coming down to watch Alex when I have worked. One of the times she came down was her birthday. John and Marian were here to celebrate too. John and Nana got to work on their country line dancing technique. Don't be surprised if you see them on next season's "So You Think You Can Dance."

lazy saturday

We got to spend this summer morning playing with Arlo. Our adventures included a stop to Starbucks and playing in the house. As a side note, we are amazed by Alexs' ability to walk into any Starbucks (Portland, Tacoma, Beaverton, etc.) and immediately know exactly where we are and where to go to find her fruit pouch. We'll blame that on Nana and Papa Steve :)

big changes

We have had a busy May. Ryan got a new job. He is still working for Providence but he moved to a different hospital (where I used to work) and he is now the lead therapist in the pediatric department. He started two weeks ago and is loving it! He is so excited to be working with kids again. I also got and started a new job. I am actually working at the same hospital as Ryan (where I used to work). I will be working on the floor I used to work on (cardiology) as well as a respiratory floor. I am per diem nurse which means I pick up shifts on days where the floors are short nurses (I will usually know in advance). I have to work a minimum of 4 shifts a months but can work more if I want. My first 5 weeks back will be full time as I am in orientation and re-orienting. So far it has been fun and is going really well.

Ryan and I started our jobs the same week. My mom came down the first week I started work to help watch Alex. Alex LOVED having her hear. They had a great time playing, running and chasing, going to the park and on walks, reading, taking baths....My dad came down that weekend to spend time with us too. Our friend Annie is watching Alex for the next several weeks. She has a 15 month old son (Robbie) who Alex loves to play with (we hear about "Raw" all the time). My mom and our friend Jane are also filling in on a couple of dates. Starting in July Alex will be going to daycare/preschool at St. Clare Church--2 blocks away (part-time). So far everything has gone really smoothly (thanks to help from many friends and family).

rising star

Thanks to Aunt Michelle, Alex got to be on the cover of the Enumclaw Parks and Recreation summer activity guide. She is even holding one of her favorite things--rocks! What a cutie!

spring visitors

We have been so lucky to have so many great friends and family visit this spring. The Mosers from Connecticut (Bob came twice), Ryan and Alanna, and Darcy and Mila (from Louisianna). Also, Nana and Papa Steve (a later post), John and Marian, and Aaron, Triffy, and John (from Bellevue, WA).

reed college

To celebrate Dan's birthday we got to walk around Reed Campus (we also had yummy Mexican food and dessert at Papa Haydens). Thanks to Mel for the fun pictures!
