Lacey is such a great dog with Alex. She sits there while Alex pokes her eyes, pulls on her tail, climbs back and forth over her, and sits on her. She'll let Alex hug her, kiss her, and sit and read with her. She lets Alex chase her around the house and she'll chase Alex too. Alex will try to get her food while she eating and Lacey will just step back and watch. Alex loves Lacey--she'll call for her first thing in the morning, always says good bye when we are leaving and hugs her first thing when we get home. When Alex is upset I can say, "where's Lacey?" Alex goes to find her and all her troubles go away.

colorado blizzard 2012

It seems as if we are destined for crazy weather every time we go to Colorado. But we love it because the snow if FUN. This year they had a "blizzard" the first night we arrived. We got about 12-16 inches of snow. The snow lasted our entire trip. We built a sledding hill outside of the VanSelus' home and went sledding on a big local hill as well. Alex loved it! She loved it so much when she was waiting for her turn on the sled she would try scooting down on her bottom.

H and Lulu always make Alex feel so special. Alex loves her matching pajamas! It was so fun to see Alex be more interactive with them. We ate yummy food, got to see H's and Lulu's schools, went to Boulder and Denver, and had fun hanging out. We had a great time and can't wait to go back again.

On the way home, the flight attendant asked us if Alex would like to sit in the Pilot's chair in the cockpit. We thought we'd give it a try. You can tell by the pictures what she thought. Ryan was lucky to snap a couple. I think the whole plane heard Alex's scream.
