Ryan and I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for Aaron and Triffy who are due in March. We are so excited to meet baby Crain!

Ryan and Aaron did a great job planning games.

In addition to prizes for winning, there were consequences for loosing.

It was so fun to see everyone. We had a great time.

6 month stats

Alex had her 6 month check-up and vaccinations today. Luckily she got a good nap in before seeing the doctor. Everything looked great. She is rockin' her height and weight!

Sit on her own for ten plus minutes
Roll from her front to her back (but not very often)

Ryan had to work on Valentine's Day--but we got to enjoy an evening with him and got to celebrate later that week!

Since Alex was a month old, she and I had been going to a Mom's group every week. We got to learn about baby development, ask questions, and meet a lot of other mom's and babies. Today was graduation day because Alex is just about 6 months (the age limit). Ryan made cookies for all the mom's to eat while Alex and I said our good-byes (although we get to hang out with many of them outside of the group).

moving on

Today was my last day of work! It was a sad but mostly happy day. I will miss all the wonderful people that I work with. Most of all, I am looking forward to all the time I get to spend with Alex! Ryan and Alex would come visit me one to two times a day the days I worked. I am sure Ryan won't miss the "boring" room we hung out in.

first swim

I have been so excited to take Alexis swimming (since before she was born) and I finally set up with a friend and her daughter to go. A few days before the swimming adventure, we went to give Alex a bath and realized she was not loving being in the water--crying every time we set her in her bath (we had been showering). So Ryan and I made a point to do bath time every day for the four days before the pool...pushing Alex a little further each time. By the third night she was loving it.

Alex did great in the pool! She did not fuss once and enjoyed splashing and swishing in the water. I took a picture in the changing room, but did not venture bringing the camera to the poolside.
